Swamp near Housetop, Wilderness
Some observers, upon seeing the Wilderness for the first time, have commented that it is the most desolate region of Philosateleia. Its residents find solace in the quiet setting, however, and although very sparsely settled, it has attracted the likes of Ambassador Kevin Blackston, whose small dwelling is built on a rock at Housetop, Wilderness.
The only city of any significant size is Kayton. A major road, The Way, does run across the region from east to west, and passes through Kayton.
Much of the Wilderness has never even been seen, and most Philosateleians are quite content to leave it that way, at least for the immediate future. Immense, thick forests and swamps cover the region, with a few barren moors located in the northern reaches for good measure. The ground in some parts of the Wilderness is exceptionally boggy, and it is thus recommended that anyone intending to settle in the area find a stable rock area on which to build his or her home.
