Philosateleian Postmark Official Government Web Site of Philosateleia

Shakalaka is one of the two most recently settled administrative regions of Philosateleia. The looming mountains can be intimidating to those unfamiliar with the territory, but the breathtaking scenery richly rewarded the hearty adventurers who braved the chill summit winds. The mountains tower over lush, fertile valleys.

Several small villages are dotted around the mountains of Shakalaka, but the chief city, Boom, is actually built inside the mountains near the western edge of the region. The first team of surveyors to breach that mountain ridge discovered a large cave opening to the east, and upon entering realized that they had stumbled across a gigantic cavern. The city is extremely energy efficient, with the air inside the cavern remaining at approximately 20 degrees Celsius at all times. Many residents of Boom actually work in the valley below the cave opening, but those who have incave jobs are required to spend at least two hours outside each day.

Shakalaka is the site of Philosateleia's low sodium, caffeine free artesian root beer wells. The root beer is shipped in barrels around the globe. Other major exports from Shakalaka include stone for construction in other areas of the globe and textiles. One of Philosateleia's most popular music groups, Rock and Wool, also originated in Shakalaka.

Much of central Shakalaka remains unexplored.
