Philosateleian Postmark Official Government Web Site of Philosateleia

Residents of Earth who have not yet had the opportunity to visit Philosateleia often wonder about life on the satellite. Although everyday life has grown easier since that initial band of settlers touched down on the surface, the heartiness and determination that they had lives on today.

Shelter
There are several types of shelter used on Philosateleia. The freestanding home, which is most often constructed of brick or other sturdy materials, is the most common form by far. Apartments are also available, although the majority of those are located in Philatelic City.

Relatively temporary wood structures are common along the coastal region of Fishlandia, and to a lesser extent as vacation homes in a few areas of Dulceren. Some of the larger homes in the mountainous region of Shakalaka are also made of wood, but being built of logs are much more permanent than their coastal counterparts.

Shakalaka is also the location of the famous cave cities, in which the homes are rather obviously carved out of rock.

Transportation
Most Philosateleians travel on land. The main roadways around the globe feature electromagnetic grids which, when combined with the auxiliary drive system of the popular Magneto Motors hybrid car, move vehicles along with ease. For secondary roadways in less populated areas, the cars come with a main engine powered by dihydrogen oxide. Although some activists on Earth have promoted banning the compound, Philosateleian scientists have discovered no evidence that its use in moderation causes any harm to the environment.

The Aerospace Corporation produces several models of air and space vehicles, but most of those are used only commercially for mass transport. Boats are used along the coasts and to reach the islands.

Employment
Philosateleians work in a variety of fields, agriculture being significant among them. A large number are also employed by the philatelic industry, and in the harvesting of root beer from artesian wells.

Politicians and lawyers are rarities on Philosateleia, the government and legal system being much simpler than those found on Earth.
